Do I need a new ROI framework for AI?
No. Did DSO decrease? Did close time improve? Did forecast accuracy increase? Use existing operational metrics. If improvements can’t be measured in business terms you already track, be skeptical of the value.
What operational improvements should come before AI?
- Data quality fixes (customer master, product hierarchies, financial reconciliation consistency).

Does it ever make sense to invest in AI before fixing operations?
